This afternoon I prepared my Wavewalk for the kayak fishing tournament this weekend. The truck is nearly packed, Emmrods are rigged with reels and stowed, one tackle box with a selection of lures is ready, and all the other gear is set to go. The thing about getting ready for kayak fishing is that you want everything you need checked and checked again. Problems on the water at the very least require a long paddle back. Tomorrow morning I'll head out early to meet Ed a fellow W500 kayaker near his home in Lake City, FL. Then it's off to his son's place right on the water over in the big bend. We have decided not to prefish and instead use the scouting Ed has already done for hot spots in the area. Captains meeting is tomorrow night and we will go over the rules for Saturday. This should be fun!
