A serious big fish rig - The new 4 coil Universal Emmrod from Jeff's Tackle Box

This is a beauty of a casting rig!  The one an angler can handle just about anything that swims.  It's the new 4 coil Universal Rod from Emmrod.  In this case it's rigged with a baitcast reel the Curado 300D spooled with 20lb boxed rated Fireline.  Big reds, pike, snook, musky and bass look out, this baby is one the water now!  Ir's one of the fishing rods that will be in the boat with us at Lake of the Woods in a couple of weeks.  We have these in stock and they are moving fast.  For kayak fishing, wow, this will catch your next trophy.

The only rods were offer for sale at www.jeffstacklebox.com are the Universal style. We have them in 4 coil, 7 coil, 6 coil Topwater Special and the combat rods in 4 or 7 coil. The site is being dedone to beter reflect that.

I just received mine. That was quick. I hope I can test it this weekend. Thanks for the extra handle guard, Jeff. It looks naked without it. I was not expecting that; my Kayak King has an optional weight for the handle, so it actually has a better-looking (my opinion) end piece.

We have never offered the handle weight since it is a rust point in saltwater use. I prefer the hollow handle since it can be rinsed. The cap I sent along to you is a crutch tip that can be purchased in four packs at ACE Hardwear. Either the 7/8 or 1 inch versions will fit depending on how tight a fit you want. Nice thing is when they get beat up you can simply put on a new one. Glad the USPS got the rod there quickly for you. I love their service out of our little town, the rods arrive fast and you can get to fishing sooner.

I had a couple of hours to fish with Emmrods this afternoon. I landed 3 bass on 4-coil, the one I just received, and another one on the Topwater Special. They were all about 1lb and hit Zoom Fluke attached to a #3 jig spinner from Jann's. I hooked another bass on a Texas-rigged plastic worm, but it escaped.

I ended up changing the handles. Now the 4-coil on the Kayak King and the Topwater Special on the casting Packrod. It seems the pistol grip lets me cast a little bit farther (I fish from the bank). I cannot do this kind of things with regular fishing rods.

Congats on those bass today! Those Emmrods are just a blast to catch fish with. I'm so glad you are having a great time with the rods. They are habit forming.

They are contagious, too. My wife checked out your web site, and saw the Game Day Packer, and the one in the picture looks like the gator color (she is a gator). I guess I know what I'm getting for her next birthday.
